Allemagne : Bastian Schweinsteiger met un terme à sa carrière

Bastian Schweinsteiger a pris sa décision. Déjà hésitant l'année passée, le champion du monde allemand a officiellement raccroché les crampons ce mardi.

Le milieu de terrain de 35 ans a débuté sa carrière au Bayern en 2002. Il a disputé treize saisons avec les Bavarois, portant à 500 reprises le maillot de son club formateur. Avec la formation munichoise, Schweinsteiger a remporté de nombreux trophées comme la Ligue des champions en 2013 et huit Bundesliga. En 2015, il avait pris la direction de Manchester United. Un mariage qui n'a pas pris puisque le joueur n'a disputé que 35 matchs en deux saisons. Il a, tout de même, remporté la Ligue Europa en 2016-2017 avec le club mancunien.

Champion du monde 2014

Le milieu de terrain a également brillé sous le maillot de l'Allemagne. Avec son pays, il a participé à quatre Euro (2004, 2008, 2012 et 2016) et trois Coupe du monde (2006, 2010 et 2014). Un trophée de plus qu'a soulevé Bastian Schweinsteiger au Brésil, en 2014.

Depuis 2017, l'ancien capitaine de la Mannschaft évoluait en Major League Soccer, aux États-Unis, sous le maillot des Chicago Fire.
